Now that they are almost one, they are eating less and less of the purees and more real food. My husband and I say that they eat so much better than we do!Susan D.http://loveandlabs.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202114547674726101.post-74576703530371503982009-06-05T01:49:22.042-04:002009-06-05T01:49:22.042-04:00Hi Nicole,

I also have purchased a few Gerber organic packs just to see if they'll like a food before I go off and make a ton. The only food they haven't tried that is on your list is mango...gotta pick one up. Their favorite thing so far is sweet potatoes. Off to make some green beans now!Boston Chefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08380993101934619447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202114547674726101.post-50483879889284501802009-06-04T09:15:55.067-04:002009-06-04T09:15:55.067-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Boston Chefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08380993101934619447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202114547674726101.post-56254391158702890612009-06-03T22:19:45.121-04:002009-06-03T22:19:45.121-04:00Man the colors in those bags are so purty they mak...Man the colors in those bags are so purty they make me want to paint my dining room in one of those appetizing colors! ;)

(We only did homemade bananas regularly. When I bought an off-season butternut squash for an exhorbitant price and hardly got anything out of it, I got irked. However, heading to the store and grabbing those jars saved SO MUCH TIME for me. (plus, the blender was for the mud slides ;) ) LOL!Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01131976831557567016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202114547674726101.post-39351711252466864122009-06-02T20:54:05.413-04:002009-06-02T20:54:05.413-04:00I made my own baby food almost exclusively, too. ...I made my own baby food almost exclusively, too. I did buy the cereals, though we didn't use a ton of them. And I got jars if we were traveling. Other than that, I made it all. Similar reasons, I really enjoy cooking, I had the time. It was enjoyable for me, not a chore. And I liked that I had more control over ingredients and texture. My kids liked much thicker purees than you could get in the jars, and really never had much of a problem when things had more texture.

Honestly? Enjoy these days. I actually really miss them. I miss the days of popping out some brightly-colored ice cubes and having the kids devour it all. :-)

My kids also hated straight green beans. But they'd eat anything (including green beans) if it was mixed with banana. Or I'd do green beans, sweet potato, and apple. Or, once they started dairy, banana and avocado with yogurt. HUGE hit.Liz Jimenezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02113299527583609272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202114547674726101.post-48544841271792944192009-06-02T20:21:56.326-04:002009-06-02T20:21:56.326-04:00I love jar food. But I hate cooking, hate choosing what they eat, don't want to worry about buying all the stuff organic (the jars do that for you). Do I feel like a better mom would make baby food? Yes, but I too have a guilt complex. :)Mommy, Esq.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00228638552586921228noreply@blogger.com
